Rocky Mount Dance Academy is located at 1633 Woodruff Road -- Rocky Mount, NC. --at the intersection of Winstead and Hunter Hill in The Hampton Village Center.  Our facility has 2 spacious studios with floating wood floors, mirrors and barres.  Our largest studio has a waiting room and two-way mirror for parents to observe classes. Leapin’ Leotards, located in Rocky Mount Dance Academy sells a large variety of dance supplies at a discounted price to our students.  
 Rocky Mount Dance Academy is unique in that we provide a positive & safe environment for children and adults to improve physical well-being, build self-esteem, explore dance through the marriage of movement and music, and to grow and thrive as dancers. We cater to a wide age range, from as young as age 3 through teens and adults, beginning through advanced, offering classes in creative movement, ballet, Pointe, jazz, tap, modern and hiphop.  We have classes that satisfy the needs of the recreational dancer and the more serious minded student. 

Our professional instructors are chosen because they are the most qualified for each style and level of dance that your child attains.  Their training goes beyond the local hometown studio.

Loretta A. Druen, Owner and Artistic Director of the Rocky Mount Dance Academy studied in Alexandria, Virginia while in high school, in New York City at ‘Luigi’s Jazz Center’ and The New York School of Ballet before moving to North Carolina where she received her BFA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Dance/Choreography from East Carolina University.  Ms. Druen continues to attend workshops with Dance Makers of America, Dance Troupe, Inc, and LA Dance Force.   

Jeannie Billodeau, Rocky Mount Dance Academy’s Ballet Director, originally from New Hampshire began her studies as a teen at Ballet Arts Academy under the direction of Lucinda Lee who trained with the Boston Repertoire. Ms. Billodeau studied classical Russian technique with Dianna Demarkov. 

Ms. Billodeau continued her studies in North Carolina at Ayden School of Ballet and Meredith College where she added modern dance to her repertoire and currently takes classes at The Raleigh School of Ballet, where several of her students have auditioned and been accepted. 

 
   
We challenge our dancers to reach their full potential by providing superior training for all levels.  We offer performance opportunities for all ages in our annual Spring Showcase.  Our more advanced students perform in our holiday performance of “The Nutcracker – All Jazzed Up”, in addition to attending workshops and the occasional competition. 
Celebrating our ‘23rd Year’ in Rocky Mount we take pride in offering our students the highest degree of dance instruction in the area and the opportunity for personal development, achievement and enjoyment.  We encourage parents to choose their child’s dance training carefully, considering the qualifications of the instructors and the facility.  Observe the more advanced classes to see the potential that each child can achieve.  Our classes are offered in the afternoon from 4:00 pm to 9:30 pm on weekdays and Saturday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30 am. Please drop in for a visit at our studios located at 1633 Woodruff Road, Rocky Mount, NC. or call  252.937.2963 or email us
